Meet our new intern
Hello, my name is Karen van der Stal, I am 23 years old and I live in  Amsterdam, the Netherlands. I am currently doing a MA programme in Musicology at the University of Amsterdam, and to broaden my scope and get more experience I am doing an internship at the WMDC. During my internship I would like to find out who the members of the CDIME Network are and what they exactly expect from the network. Also, I would like to add new members to the network who might somehow contribute to the ongoing debate about cultural diversity in music education.

Questionnaire
Since the CDIME Network is quite informal, it would be helpful to get a view on its current members. Also, we would like to know what you exactly expect from the network. On the website you can find a questionnaire, which you are kindly asked to fill in.

Welcome

CDIME’s website has had a major overhaul! Up until recently the website was backed up by a sluggish and heavy content management system that made the administrator want to set her hair on fire. Based on the administrator’s firm belief that there are things worth setting your hair on fire over but websites are not it, this site is now running on a very smooth and convenient WordPress system.

The new setup enables not only fire-free hair but also adds the possibility of keeping a regular blog on the CDIME website. Since the CDIME network consists essentially of many interesting people, it is our aim to ask some of those people – teachers, learners, researchers, musicians, etc. – to share with us their views on the central topic of the network: cultural diversity in music education.

The topic itself is a very broad one. This can be seen e.g. in the themes of the next CDIME conference, to be held in Singapore in January 2012. More information and news about that conference will be published very soon on this website. The full info is also available on the CDIME 2012 website.

In the mean time: if you want to stay updated on the network’s activities as well as the many interesting people that make it, please subscribe to this blog by clicking the link on the right. That way you will always be notified in case there is something new to share within the network.
